Harvey Internet Setup Procedures for--
2. Choose "PROGRAMS".
3. Choose "ACCESSORIES".
4. Choose "COMMUNICATIONS".
5. Choose "DIAL-UP NETWORKING".
6. Double click "MAKE NEW CONNECTION".
7. Name the new connection: "Harvey Library" or "HPL".
8. Click "NEXT".
9. If you are within the "708" area code, leave the area code box blank. If you are outside the "708" area code, please type "708" for area code. And type "3392103" for telephone number.
10. Click "NEXT".
11. Click "FINISH".
12. Double click the "NEW CONNECTION".
13. Type in your name and password. Please use all lower case letters:
a. user (login) name: _______________________(i.e. william)
b. password: _____________________________(i.e. jackson)
14. Click "CONNECT".
15. If a connection is made, there will be two little green flashing monitors on the right side of the task bar (by the clock). A message will also pop up. Read it before closing it.

After a connection, open your browser. That is double click on Internet Explorer
(default)
.
If the default icon is not on your desktop or bottom of the bar, click "START"
button to find it.
17. After opening the browser, follow the prompts. This will take you to the MSN or Netscape home page, or the home page you type in such as:"http://www.google.com".

9. If you are within the "708" area code, leave the area code box blank. If you are outside the "708" area code, please type "708" for area code. And type "3392103" for telephone number.
10. Click "NEXT".
11. Click "FINISH".
12. Double click the "NEW CONNECTION".
13. Type in your name and password. Please use all lower case letters:
a. user (login) name: _______________________(i.e. william)
b. password: _____________________________(i.e. jackson)
14. Click "CONNECT".
15. If a connection is made, there will be two little green flashing monitors on the right side of the task bar (by the clock).A message will also pop up. Read it before closing it.

3. Choose "NETWORK CONNECTIONS".
4. Choose "CREATE A NEW CONNECTION".
5. "WELCOME TO NEW CONNECTION" Wizard will pop up. Click on "NEXT".
6. Make sure "CONNECT TO INTERNET" is checked. Click on "NEXT".
7. Check "SET UP CONNECTIONS" manually. And click on "NEXT".
8. Check "CONNECT USING DIAL-UP MODEM". And click on "NEXT".
9. Name the new connection: "Harvey Library" or "HPL". And Click on "NEXT".
10. If you are within the "708" area code, leave the area code box blank. If you are outside the "708" area code, please type "708" for area code. And type "3392103" for telephone number. Then click on "NEXT".
11. Type in your name and password. Please use all lower case letters:
a. user (login) name: _______________________(i.e. william)
b. password: _____________________________(i.e. jackson)
12. Confirm password by retyping it. Click "NEXT".
13. Check "ADD A SHORTCUT TO THIS CONNECTION". And Click "FINISH".
14. Double click the "NEW CONNECTION".
15. Click "CONNECT".
16. If a connection is made, there will be two little green flashing monitors on the right side of the task bar (by the clock). A message will also pop up. Read it before closing it.
